Horsehoof Camp in The Needles

Hot. Yes, hot. Anytime you enter the Needles District in the dog days of summer, what else could you expect?

After years of exploring various areas of Utah via Google Earth I always wanted to make my way to Horsehoof, a campsite back behind Elephant Hill in Canyonlands. Why? Put simply, it seems to be the most remote site in the Park outside the Maze This past Labor Day we finally decided to explore this hidden area and see how it compares to the Dollhouse in the Maze or White Crack on the White Rim Road. Much to our happy surprise, Horsehoof and the surrounding areas are spectacular, including the Joint Trail connector to Druid Arch and the Beef Basin region of Bears Ears. Enjoy the photos.
